The relationship was especially intense during the Habsburg dynasty and later with the Bourbons. The members of the Royal Family frequently attended her services, passing by her temple on their way in and out of Madrid.
When the monarchs suffered serious illness or were in a state of death, the image of the Virgin was carried in solemn procession to the Royal Palace. In fact, the image can only be carried in procession with royal permission. In 1562 it was carried for the first time to pray for the health of Prince Charles who had suffered a fall. Philip III and his son Philip IV wanted to have it in their room at the time of his death.
Fernando VII deposited his scepter at the feet of the image when he left exiled to France and on his return the first thing he did was to go to venerate the Virgin of Atocha collecting his scepter and donating the sash of the order of Carlos III that he was wearing.
And some time later, in July 1631, a terrible fire consumed entire blocks around the Plaza Mayor in Madrid. Immediately the help of heaven was requested and so the monarch asked that the image of Our Lady of Atocha be taken in procession to the Plaza Mayor and later to the Descalzas Reales where the Court and the Kings were located, so that her presence would calm the fire. The fire ceased and was attributed to divine intervention.

Intervention in this area is carried out through psycho-pedagogical evaluations and counseling, detection of difficulties, and monitoring the evolution of students. A key point in this area is the attention to diversity, which, through actions such as curricular adaptations, programs to reduce learning delays and educational reinforcements among others, aims to optimize the psycho-pedagogical attention to students.
Every weekend the school moves more than 700 students in different sports and categories. Sports are integrated into the daily life of our students, who, once the school day is over, return to wear their school jerseys, train and have fun. Sport is an integrating element for young people and allows them to identify with the school as a complement to the academic aspects.
Our main idea is that, within our sports offer, every student who wants to play sports does so; and for us the greatest success is that if a team starts the course with 12 players, it ends with the same 12.
